Privacy Policy

How Unity Links collects, uses, shares, protects, and retains information.

Effective: July 18, 2026

1. Introduction

Unity Links (“Unity Links,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Unity Links website, community portal, safety-education courses, missing-person alert features, contact forms, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and disclose it, how we protect it, and the choices available to you. By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

A. Account and Profile Information

When you register or maintain a community account, we may collect your name, username, email address, password in encrypted or hashed form, profile image, biography, location, role or relationship to the community, social links, preferences, and other profile fields you choose to provide.

B. Missing-Person Reports and Case Information

When a report is submitted, we may collect information about the reporter and the missing person, including names, contact information, relationship to the case, age, photographs, physical descriptions, last-seen information, case number, investigating-agency details, circumstances, safety information, supporting documents, and the source or method used to confirm the information.

Some case information may be displayed publicly when it is authorized, appropriate, and necessary for awareness. Do not submit information you are not legally authorized to provide.

C. Community and Course Activity

We may collect posts, comments, reactions, reports, messages where enabled, space or course participation, quiz responses, course progress, badges, leaderboard activity, and moderation history.

D. Forms, Communications, and Email Preferences

We may collect information submitted through contact, partnership, volunteer, support, or reporting forms; messages you send to us; email subscription status; tags or audience segments; campaign activity; and records of consent, opt-in, opt-out, or delivery status.

E. Technical and Usage Information

Our systems and service providers may automatically collect IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring pages, requested pages, timestamps, login activity, security events, cookie identifiers, and general usage or performance information.

F. Location Information

We may collect a location you voluntarily enter, a general location inferred from an IP address, or device location only when a feature requests it and you grant permission. Do not provide a precise private location unless it is necessary, safe, and authorized.

G. Information from Official and Third-Party Sources

We may receive or display missing-person information from law-enforcement agencies, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, authorized organizations, news sources, public records, partners, or users who link to an official source.

3. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

  • Operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Services.
  • Create and manage accounts, profiles, community access, courses, and learning progress.
  • Receive, review, verify, publish, update, share, or remove missing-person alerts.
  • Respond to contacts, corrections, support requests, reports, and safety concerns.
  • Moderate content, enforce policies, investigate abuse, prevent fraud, and protect users.
  • Send transactional emails, account notices, safety communications, course messages, newsletters, or other communications you request or consent to receive.
  • Comply with law, legal process, court orders, regulatory obligations, and legitimate requests from authorities.
  • Create aggregated or de-identified statistics that do not reasonably identify an individual.

Unity Links does not sell personal information for money. We do not use child-related case information for behavioral advertising.

4. Public Information

Information you publish in a public profile, public Space, public post, comment, or approved public alert may be visible to anyone and may be copied, indexed, shared, or archived by others. Do not post information you expect to remain private.

Private and secret community areas restrict visibility within the platform, but no online system can guarantee absolute confidentiality. Authorized administrators and service providers may access information when needed to operate, moderate, secure, or support the Services.

5. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information:

  • To the public: when information is intentionally published in a public alert, profile, post, comment, news article, or public course activity.
  • To service providers: including website hosting, email delivery, security, backup, content delivery, technical support, and other vendors that process information for us.
  • To authorities and safety organizations: when permitted or required by law, in response to legal process, or when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to address child exploitation, a credible threat, fraud, abuse, or another safety concern.
  • To an investigating agency or authorized party: to verify, correct, update, or remove a case.
  • For organizational changes: in connection with a merger, financing, restructuring, transfer of assets, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate protections.
  • With your direction or consent: when you ask us to share information or authorize a specific use.

6. WordPress and Platform Tools

Unity Links currently uses a WordPress-based environment and tools that may process information as part of providing the Services, including:

  • WordPress and hosting infrastructure for website content, accounts, databases, media, logs, and administration.
  • FluentCommunity for community profiles, feeds, Spaces, courses, progress, notifications, badges, and related member activity.
  • FluentCRM for contact management, audience segmentation, email preferences, campaigns, and automations stored within the WordPress environment.
  • Contact Form 7 for form submissions. Submissions may be delivered by email and may be retained in the WordPress database when submission storage is enabled.
  • FluentSMTP and the configured email provider to route and deliver email communications and related delivery metadata.
  • LiteSpeed Cache and hosting tools for caching, performance, security, and technical delivery.
  • Backup and migration tools that may create protected copies of site data for recovery, maintenance, or migration.
  • The Unity Alerts System for missing-person records, public alert display, report processing, and related administrative functions.

These tools may change over time. Their access is limited to the purposes for which they are configured and is subject to applicable agreements and security controls.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Unity Links may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for:

  • Essential site functions, authentication, security, session management, and preferences.
  • Community and course functionality.
  • Performance, caching, fraud prevention, and troubleshooting.
  • Analytics or measurement only when such tools are enabled.

You may control cookies through your browser and, where provided, the website’s consent controls. Blocking essential cookies may prevent login, course, community, or form features from working properly.

8. Email and Marketing Choices

Transactional and safety-related messages may be sent when necessary to operate your account, respond to a request, deliver a course or community notice, or address security and policy matters.

Marketing or newsletter emails will include an unsubscribe option where required. You may also contact us to update your preferences. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent essential account, security, or requested-service communications.

9. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain accurate case and moderation records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, protect safety, and support legitimate operational needs.

Retention may vary by category. For example:

  • Account information may be retained while an account is active and for a reasonable period after closure.
  • Public case information may be updated, archived, or removed based on official status, authorization, safety, and legal requirements.
  • Security, moderation, legal, and backup records may be retained longer where necessary.
  • Email contact information may be retained until you unsubscribe, request deletion, or the information is no longer needed, subject to lawful suppression records.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. These may include access controls, secure credentials, encryption in transit where supported, updates, backups, logging, and limited administrative access.

No website, database, email system, or transmission method is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, lost, altered, or disclosed without authorization.

11. Children’s Privacy

Community accounts and interactive account features are intended for adults age 18 and older. Unity Links does not knowingly permit children to create community accounts or knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13 without legally valid parental consent.

Public safety-education materials may be viewed by families and younger audiences. A parent, guardian, or authorized adult should supervise a minor’s use and should submit any required personal information on the minor’s behalf.

Missing-person reports may necessarily contain information about a child. Such reports must be submitted by an authorized adult or based on an official source, and the information must be limited to what is lawful, relevant, and appropriate for safety and awareness.

If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to Unity Links without appropriate authorization, contact contact@unity-links.com.

12. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection concerning personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

You may also:

  • Edit certain profile and account information through available settings.
  • Control profile-field visibility where the platform provides that option.
  • Unsubscribe from marketing email.
  • Disable optional device location or browser permissions.
  • Request account closure or a privacy review by contacting us.

We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing a request. We may retain information when permitted or required for safety, legal compliance, fraud prevention, disputes, or recordkeeping.

13. External Links and Third-Party Sources

The Services may link to official agencies, news organizations, social platforms, resource providers, or other third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Unity Links is not responsible for the privacy, security, or content of a third-party service.

14. International Use

Unity Links is operated from the United States. If you access the Services from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate, subject to applicable law.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the Services, technology, law, or our practices. We will post the revised Policy and update the effective date. When appropriate, we may provide additional notice through the website, community, or email.
